Tesla Owners Italia, ha indirizzato una lettera aperta a Elon Musk per proporre la realizzazione della prossima Gigafactory europea a Taranto, in un progetto di riconversione dell’ex Ilva.

Dear Elon,
the writer of this letter is Tesla Owners Italia alongside with the citizens and institutional personalities of Taranto, Italy.
Taranto holds a special place in our hearts. Overlooking a wonderful gulf in southern Italy, Taranto is in Puglia, one of the Italian richest regions in history and artistic beauties. But, as you may know, there is a monster in this city.
An eco-monster, to be precise: the ArcelorMittal steel mill (formerly ILVA). One of the biggest polluters in Italy and Europe with over 10 million tons of CO2 produced every year.
The citizens of Taranto want to get rid of this monster. They want to embrace the world of sustainable mobility and environmentally friendly industry. Through their representatives, they would like to invite you to consider the SEZ area of Taranto (Special Economic Zone) to create the
next European Gigafactory, taking advantage of its excellent cargo port, highway, railway, and airport.
The first Mediterranean Gigafactory would be a dream. It would be located in the heart of ancient Magna Graecia, unifying the civilizing spirit of our Greek founders with the future of sustainability and industry!
Whilst being perfect for these purposes, the Taranto area has much more to offer. Grottaglie airport, for instance, (just 20 km from Taranto) with one of the longest runways ni Europe, would also be an ideal place to create a location for Space X and Starlink activities.
Just like you, we Italians are tenacious and ambitious people and want to help Taranto to find its new renaissance. We are counting on your openness to evaluate this opportunity and look forward to meeting you in Taranto!

chi ti scrive è Tesla Owners Italia insieme ai cittadini e alle istituzioni di Taranto, Italia.
Taranto occupa un posto speciale nei nostri cuori. Affacciata su uno splendido golfo nel sud Italia, Taranto si trova in Puglia, una delle regioni italiane più ricche di storia e bellezze artistiche. Ma, come forse saprai, in questa città c’è un mostro.
Un eco-mostro, per essere precisi: l’acciaieria ArcelorMittal (ex ILVA). Uno dei maggiori inquinatori d’Italia e d’Europa, con oltre 10 milioni di tonnellate di CO₂ emesse ogni anno.
I cittadini di Taranto vogliono liberarsi di questo mostro. Vogliono abbracciare un mondo fatto di mobilità sostenibile e industria ecologicamente responsabile. Attraverso i loro rappresentanti, desiderano invitarti a considerare l’area ZES di Taranto (Zona Economica Speciale) per creare la prossima Gigafactory europea, sfruttando l’eccellente porto commerciale, l’autostrada, la rete ferroviaria e l’aeroporto.
La prima Gigafactory del Mediterraneo sarebbe un sogno. Sarebbe situata nel cuore dell’antica Magna Grecia, unendo lo spirito civilizzatore dei nostri fondatori greci con il futuro della sostenibilità e dell’industria!
Oltre ad essere perfetta per questi scopi, l’area di Taranto ha molto di più da offrire. L’aeroporto di Grottaglie, ad esempio (a soli 20 km da Taranto), con una delle piste più lunghe d’Europa, sarebbe anche un luogo ideale per ospitare attività di SpaceX e Starlink.
Proprio come te, noi italiani siamo persone tenaci e ambiziose, e vogliamo aiutare Taranto a trovare la sua nuova rinascita. Contiamo sulla tua disponibilità a valutare questa opportunità e non vediamo l’ora di accoglierti a Taranto!
